Tasting Notes

Gorgeous notes of dark chocolate and luscious banana collide with creamy crème brûlée, all held together by ripple ripples of nutty malt. The 13 months spent aging in local Ghost Coast Bourbon barrels impart a delicate kiss of woodspice and warming whiskey on the backend, complementing the subtle heat coming from the boozy 12.1% ABV.

Aroma: Dark sweet chocolate with a hint of peanut. Vanilla is the dominant note with banana at the end. Flavor Profile: Dark bitter chocolate sprinkled with chocolate powder intertwined with peanuts. Toffee is present towards the end with a creamy banana finish. Some booze is present at the end with all flavors blending together.

This was a great stout, with a dominant peanut and chocolate profile. The nuttiness really hits you. Hardly a trace of banana, though, which was a little disappointing given expectations.
