A Note on This Beer
My uncle Dave used to dress up as Santa when we were kids. He’d show up to our Christmas parties in a red velvet suit, arms full of packages in shiny wrapping.
The only problem was, he’d have so much rummy eggnog that he had no idea whose gift was whose. I’d wind up with a Lite Brite while my sister got my Transformers.
Hey, every family has a few weird traditions. Which is why I’m starting a better one this year — kicking off the season with Rahr & Sons’ Drunken Santa!
Those award-winning Texans took a robust English Dark Ale and aged it in rum barrels with honey, cloves, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Each 9.4% ABV sip is replete with comforting notes of gooey Snickerdoodles and creamy RumChata. It’s like biting into a loaf of gingerbread that’s been soaked in aged rum!
But unlike Santa impersonators — who still try to convince kids that they flew around the world in a night — Drunken Santa doesn’t leave Texas. Which means, there’s no better time to open this boozy 2-pack and start a tradition of your own!
Rahr & Sons holds more than 60 awards from festivals like GABF, the U.S. Open Beer Championship, the Los Angeles International Beer Competition, the World Beer Cup, and the Denver International Beer Competition!
