A Note on This Beer
Hip Hops: Citra, Eukanot, Motueka, and Nelson Sauvin Hops impart bold notes of zesty blood orange and tropical papaya with a resinous grapefruit-peel finish. Double Trouble: So soft and smooth you won’t notice the big ABV... until you stand up!
Whenever I go to a brewery with my friend Joe, he complains that brews never have enough hop intensity and bite to satisfy him.
So, on my last trip to the Big Apple, I trekked to the Bronx to get Joe (and our members) a belated Christmas gift from the booze masters at Gun Hill.
And luckily for me, I showed up on the release day of a brew in their prized Lupulin series: today’s E Pluribus Lupulin II: Felix Double IPA!
This juiced-up hopbomb is finally back after two long years, and the city’s craft fans are making the subway trip in droves to get their fill of potent citrus and papaya flavors that wash down oh-so smooth.
It’s so crushable that Joe managed to drink THREE of these boozebombs in one sitting! I was seriously impressed, and here’s his verdict:
- Sober thoughts on the first: “That’s yummy.”
- Getting a little buzzed by the second: “Too smooth for 9.3% ABV! This one could actually get me unexpectedly drunk.”
- And somehow still awake by the grand finale: “Ok. I better stop there.”
Needless to say, Joe had a blast that night, and now considers Gun Hill one of his favorite breweries. And he’s certainly not alone — NY Eater even put them on their list of Must-Try NYC Breweries!
So grab your cans from our stash and get ready to taste the vibrant flavors and stealthy booziness that NYC craft fiends (and Joe) are chugging down with reckless abandon.
