A Note on This Beer

If you’ve been with us on Tavour for a while, there’s a good chance you’ve tried one of Old Nation’s beloved brews. But, unless you’ve actually headed up to Michigan and hunted down a can, you’ve never sampled a sip of Electron Brown.

Which means, you have no idea how deep the symphony of mocha flavors in this coffee-infused brew really goes. The aroma alone will perk up any java fiend — like a fresh shot of espresso.

According to the super beer geeks at PorchDrinking, cracking open this can is like “you walked into a coffee shop at 11 a.m. when they’re finally winding down after cranking out coffee for six hours, that’s roughly the same smell.”

That’s just the beginning! Take a sip and dark chocolate and espresso notes drape across the tastebuds like a velvet blanket. A touch of sweetness kicks things off, then mocha and a touch of brown sugar build from a gentle whisper to a rumbling crescendo, dominating the finish.

And, because the Imperial Brown Ale body is lighter than most coffee flavored beers, you can keep coming back again and again. Just be prepared for that 8.1% ABV!

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Tasted like old, burnt bitter coffee. It reminded me of the last cup of coffee in a pot that has long since gone cold. Extremely bitter. The bitterness and bad aftertaste ruined the flavor of the beer.

Could easily convince anyone on my zoom meeting that this is my cheap k cup cold brew. Can appreciate a step back from a heavy coffee stout with this easy to drink bitter black coffee brown ale.

Very thin body. Tasted stale. Not sure if stale coffee or the beer itself.

I felt this is a good bitter brown ale. The balance of coffee and brown ale nature is good. I am a coffee lover and thought the coffee forward nature was good.

Decent, but not the balance I was hoping for — too much coffee on the front of the mouth, which overwhelmed the malt throughout

Coffee is not very noticeable initially, but creeps out after the ale warms. Lacking sweetness or brown sugar notes. Not very interesting.

Pretty good. Was expecting it to be a little more rich in flavour but good none the less.

A crisp beer with prominent coffee forward notes on the palate. A bit of a weird aftertaste on the finish that I couldn't put my finger on. Thay said really solid for the price. And you just can't find a lot of good Brown Ales these days. 1.5 Thumbs Up!

Meh. Coffee flavor very minimal. Overly acidic. Dude on can scares me a little

Meh. Not really that much coffee flavor. Kind of an odd dry aftertaste. Not bad but not good either.
