A Note on This Beer

This is a big beer. And a damn good one. @Brian J.

Absolutely fantastic. Soft and juicy yet has an excellent fresh hop bite to give an edge. @James C.

Flavor punch, continuously impressed by this brewery. @Dana R.

They say good things come in threes, and today’s juicy-thick, pillowy-soft Elevated Perspective (v5) Triple Oat Cream IPA is here to prove it.

That’s because Humble Forager hopped it with 3 different hop varieties: Cashmere, Mosaic, and Strata. This heavenly trifecta imparts juicy notes of fresh blueberry kush, ripe melon and mango, and sweet citrus. They also used 3 different kinds of oats for an incredibly plush mouthfeel. Oat malt, golden naked oats, and flaked oats make each juicy gulp smooth, smooth, smooth!

And, there’s a lucky third step in the brewing process. Humble Forager generously double dry-hopped V5 with Mosaic Cryo to elevate and amplify the berry-mango flavor. Plus, notes of refreshing pine on the finish leave your palate ready for another juicy gulp!

This fruity hopbomb clocks in at body-buzzing 8% ABV, too — it has the power to do some serious perspective changing, if you grab a can, or three!

PorchDrinking says the Perspective series is one to “pay very close attention to!"

I think this was oxidized - came out of the can like rusty tap water, didn’t taste much better. Bought two, second one is going straight down the sink.

Straight out of the can, the aroma is fantastic, but the flavor is astringent and grassy hops. The hops taste so raw and unrefined you could be just chewing on a hop pellet. The mouthfeel is spot on and the malt backbone is perfectly balanced without being too sweet. But the hop incorporation is just wonky. There aren't even any discernable hop flavors like citrus that can be discerned. This is just pure hop organic matter. It is weird. What is especially odd is that the bitterness isn't even that high, which I would expect with the way the hops taste. Finish is very dry, almost spicy, with some lingering bitterness. This brew is poorly balanced and I would love to try this same brew with a different hop schedule, dosage, or variety. As the beer warms I keep going back hoping it has mellowed, but it has not. This is a tough beer to drink.

Great aromatics and wonderful fruit flavors immediately on the tongue. However the bitterness is intense and unrelenting. I found the lingering bitterness overshadows the fruitfulness of the following tastes. Very disappointing.

Too bitter for me. Not generally a fan of imperial IPA’s though.

Very pleasant smell and flavor at first, but bitterness immediately takes over and just overwhelms. Creamy though.

2nd worst beer from Tavour to date. Metallic taste, hazy full body of oatey funk, long bitter finish.

Wet cardboard; probably oxidized. I’m sure it’s great fresh. This round, not bad, not great

I was hoping for more. All the ingredients should add up to something I love but it’s just ... okay? Fruit is nice but the bitter flavor is off somehow. Maybe it’s oxidized? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Super smooth full mouthfeel, orange juice flavor in the middle with bitter hop at the end. Extremely unusual and delicious, even if a touch heavy.

Great spice. Cracked Szechuan peppercorn that expands across the mid palate combined with a soft mouthfeel. Unique.

For strong IPA lovers this beer is probably highly rated, but the bitterness was just too much for me. Also had the wheaty flavor and sharp, hoppy flavors. Not my fav for this style.
