This may not be the beer you’d expect — today’s small-batch beast comes with a stone fruity Belgian-style twist! You might want to take a class on yoga breathing to prepare for the boozy flavor intensity of Taxman’s Evasion BBAB Stout (2019). 

That’s not a typo, BBAB stands for Bourbon Barrel-Aged Belgian, and this Stout is all of those things, to the max. Dark Belgian Candi Sugar elevates the royally high booziness, keeping it silky and smoothing out the roasts with mellow toffee notes. 

Aging in the recently-drained barrels elevates the 2019 version with complex notes of new leather, fire-cured tobacco, and sweet spiced oak. 

Cellaring for over a year mellowed the booziness, highlighting notes of peanut brittle toffee and smooth hints of roast mocha. Meanwhile, the robustness drawn from the barrels parlays with real Indonesian vanilla beans in a refined bittersweet finish.  

Belgian-Style Barrel Aged Stouts are hard to find, making Evasion a special treat. And, on top of that, Taxman has earned two GABF medals for the style. A treasure indeed!
