A Note on This Beer
When I was a kid, I set up a rickety lemonade stand in my front yard. With bright eyes and big dreams, I hoped my mom’s homemade lemonade would soon have me up to my eyeballs in cash.
It only took one time for me to realize that the lemonade business isn’t all that lucrative. But, I bet if I set up a stand today with a couple of pitchers of Every Villein Is Lemons, business would be booming!
The Maryland brewmasters at Elder Pine crafted this puckery lemon Saison with spelt and oat malts for a gentle, crackery base. They spiked that smooth foundation with a dose of citrusy Motueka Hops, and then packed it with piles of Eureka and Lisbon lemons. Finally, they hit it with fresh lemon zest after fermentation, to top it all off.
It has the full-blown, lemony lusciousness of Mom’s homemade stuff, but with the added benefit of a 6% ABV and a subtle, barnyard funk.
For any beer geek out and about on a summer day, stumbling onto a stand serving glasses of this thirst-quenching sipper would be more exciting than finding an oasis in the Sahara. But, you really shouldn’t be handing out alcohol to strangers in your front yard.
Just grab a couple of cans for yourself, and maybe treat a few friends to some lemon-loaded refreshment instead!
