A Note on This Beer
I’ve never been to Kent, Connecticut, and I’m betting you haven’t either. But, since tasting today’s beer, I’m considering moving there.
It’s a town of less than 3,000 people, and it’s also home to Kent Falls Brewing, nestled in a refurbished barn in a corner of the 50 acre Camps Road Farm. And, even though the town is an hour from pretty much anywhere, they still made Draft Mag’s list of 25 Breweries on the Rise!
The brewers use only locally grown grains and work almost exclusively with small, independently owned farms to source their ingredients. They even open-ferment their Wild Ales in an old milk chilling vessel that they re-purposed into a coolship!
And today, you can sample one of their finest brews with Everything is Everywhere.
This bright and tangy sip rates an astounding 4.43 on Untappd! If you’re a fan of tart and rustic brews, this one should be on your ‘must try’ list. Though, unless you’ve spent a lot of time in the Nutmeg State, you likely haven’t even heard of it.
To create it, the brewers blended 1, 2, and 3, year old Wild Ales. The wild yeasts work with the local malts in the base beer to create aromas of lemon grass and melon. There’s a tangy, funky note towards the end, and the beer finishes bone dry with a light, chardonnay-like note of oak.
If you want a sip, you had better act fast. We only have 120 bottles of this elixir to go around, and once that’s gone, you’ll have to trek out to Kent if you want a sip.
