About This Beer
The adventurous Humble Forager crew started with a rich Stout base built for extended barrel aging. They let it slumber for 19 months in an assortment of Buffalo Trace, Bairdstown, Heaven Hill, Willet Rye, and Templeton Rye barrels before blending them.
Then they conditioned the brew on vanilla beans from five different regions: Vanuatu, India, Uganda, Madagascar, and Ecuador. Cacao nibs from Bolivia, Peru, Ivory Coast, Tanzania, and Fiji provide a gorgeous complement.
Tasting Notes
That global complexity of multiple regions’ cacao nibs and vanilla beans comes through in decadent currents of dark chocolate, mocha, and creme anglaise coursing through every velvety quaff. Undercurrents of bourbon caramel, toffee, and woody spice swirl just underneath, never giving away the big 12.5% ABV.
