A Note on This Beer
Did you know that American Festbiers offer a more authentic taste of the original Bavarian beers than many of their modern-day European counterparts do?
It’s true! If Oktoberfest 2020 wasn’t canceled this year, it’d be packed with lighter, golden-hued Euro brews that only became popular in the 90’s. But, here in the U.S., craft brewers like Listermann Brewing keep tradition alive with the smooth, malty, darker-hued German Lager styles of old.
Take today’s Festbier. The brew pours a beautiful reddish amber and spills enticing dark fruit aromas. On the tongue, it’s a dance between notes of sweet caramel, fig, and toasted biscuit, finishing cleanly with just a whisper of hop bitterness.
It’s supremely sippable, with just enough ponder-worthy complexity — and it’s exactly the kind of beer that reigned supreme for over a century at Munich’s Oktoberfest.
Are you ready for a taste of tradition? Prost!
