About This Beer
Festbiers and Märzens aren’t technically the same thing. In 1872, the malty, amber-colored German-Lager, Märzen, became the official beer of Munich’s Oktoberfest. As recently as 1990, it was replaced by its paler, hoppier, less malty cousin, the Festbier — currently the #1 most consumed beer style during the festival.
This brew from the Lager legends at Elder Pine Brewing is a crisp, clean, ridiculously drinkable example of a proper Festbier.
Tasting Notes
Every smooth sip of Festival Lager flows with a restrained nutty maltiness with elegantly sweet honey-drizzled biscuit notes. Hopped with Lemondrop, brightly distinct lemon-citrus and subtle herbaceous notes keep each swig light and invigorating.
