A Note on This Beer
When we teamed up with New York’s Destination Unknown Beer Co (known simply as “DUBCO” by their loyal followers), we unknowingly ignited a hophead uprising.
You see, whenever these hop-obsessed brewers unveil a new Hazy IPA, they have to open an hour early to deal with the crowds. On a recent release day, people walking away empty-handed spotted a truck being loaded with cans for Tavour — and they broke out in a chorus of Boo’s!
We don’t take pleasure in depriving NY hopheads of DUBCO’s juice, and we certainly don’t want the brewers to be heckled. But beers like For Science 6.0 New England-Style Double IPA are just too damn good not to share.
This 8.2% ABV tropical juicebomb was brewed in such a small batch, the brewery did a secret release so fans could get a fair shot. Even people in DUBCO’s members-only club lit up the Facebook announcement with some serious fear of missing out: “Wait I thought us Dub Club members were supposed to get first crack?”
With flavors of overripe guava and tangy pineapple, we can understand why DUBCO fans need to taste every new IPA in the For Science series. The super smooth Version 6.0 floods the palate with juicy fruit flavors before shifting to sharp, citrusy grapefruit peel in the finish, belying its big ABV.
Conduct your own tasting experiment: gather your hophead friends and crush some cans of this Hazy that’s causing a revolt in NY. It’s in the name of science, after all.
