A Note on This Beer
“Brown sugar, how come you taste so good?” is what Tavour members were singing when they sipped the real brown sugar-infused booziness of Mother Earth’s Four Seasons Winter 2017 Imperial Brown. Scoring a 4.03, Tavour fans begged for more of its 12% ABV barrel-aged richness -- but it was made only once.
Lucky for all you brown sugar junkies, Mother Earth dipped into their cellar and gave us a select stash of this 2017 Vintage. Mellowed for over 6 months, bourbon notes and caramel have melted with nutty undertones, transforming this 4.05 rated (UT) beast into liquid pecan coffee cake!
Eight months spent in toasted oak barrels gives this Imperial Brown Ale that boozy edge, while the brown sugar twists with malts to fashion sticky toffee pudding notes. The brewery’s inspired use of double mashing (adding an extra batch of flavorful malts) creates even more layers of caramel and roasty decadence.
Mother Earth’s Four Seasons series is all about once-in-a-lifetime flavors, and with Winter 2017, they created one of their richest yet. But if you want to dance around in a cellar-stashed brown sugar paradise, don’t wait -- this delicious mofo was only made once!
