A Note on This Beer
Sure, you may have tasted fresh hops in an IPA — but have you ever tried them in a Saison?
If not, we suggest giving Fresh Hop Saison a whirl! It comes from the award-winning experts at Logsdon Farmhouse Ales, and it’s their 100th beer since moving from Oregon to Washington!
To brew their centennial beer, they loaded Fresh Hop Saison with a massive 180 lbs of freshly picked, unkilned Centennial Hops per batch. These “wet” hops give the beer a flavor so earthy, you can taste the Washington countryside in every sip. And yet, there’s none of the bitterness associated with dried hops.
To truly earn the ‘Fresh Hop’ title, they added the hops a mere 8 hours after harvesting. To get them any fresher, you’d have to pick them yourself!
The scent of this rustic Farmhouse Ale is a welcoming bouquet of zesty lemons, invigorating pine, and a hint of freshly sanded wood. Barley, wheat, oats, and their house yeast blend lend flavors of warm, crusty sourdough, that mellow into notes of orange zest. The finish brings a whisper of spicy cloves and wild flowers.
It’s got my taste buds feeling so celebratory, I’m tempted to pour it into a champagne flute and bust out a confetti cannon!
However you want to celebrate, just remember that Logsdon’s sophisticated ales rarely leave the Pacific Northwest. That means, the only way to join the party is right here.
Logsdon sits on stacks of medals from GABF and World Beer Cup!
