About This Beer
To craft this treat, the artists at Southern Grist teamed up with friends at Mikerphone and Civil Society.
Together, they started with a rich Stout base for a decadent, dark canvas. Then they shaded it with nuances of whiskey caramel and vanilla oak by aging it in a mix of Old Rip Van Winkle and Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels for 17 to 23 months.
Tasting Notes
Malty notes paint the palate in a sumptuous tapestry of dark chocolate, chewy date, and delicate espresso. Barrel tones bring balancing strokes of burnt sugar and woody spice for hints of crème brûlée and bourbon on the finish.
