This beer first hit the app as a preorder, but we managed to pick up a few extra bottles for those who missed it!

A 4.44 UT-rated BA Stout from Fonta Flora? Yes please! Oak aged beers from this North Carolina crew consistently earn stellar ratings on Tavour and Untappd, so when they offered us an opportunity to get our hands on Gander [Apple, Cinnamon, Vanilla], we didn’t even wait for them to release it.

The brewers started with a bold and malty 14% ABV Stout, then they aged it in bourbon barrels and conditioned it on apple leather, cinnamon, and vanilla. 

That translates to hints of freshly baked apple pie topped with a dollop of ice cream, adding even more delicious depth to the whiskey-caramel, baker’s chocolate, and espresso tones of the base beer. And of course it comes with the same shockingly smooth finish that made us fall for FF’s Stouts in the first place.

If you’ve tried any of the decadent brews in this series, you’re probably just as excited as we are to get a taste of this one. Heck, you might even consider stashing one in the cellar for a few months — the holidays are right around the corner, and this pie-inspired sip should make a stellar dessert after a festive meal.
