About This Beer
Gates of S’Mordor is an Imperial Stout brewed by the dark beer experts at Westbrook! It’s (you guessed it) inspired by the Lord of the Rings, and its layers of s’mores-like decadence taste like the brewers forged it in the mighty, roasty flames of Sauron’s volcanic palace.
Tasting Notes
Take a sip, and luscious flavors of gooey fudge and cinnamon graham cracker flirt with touches of vanilla bean. A bit of roasted marshmallow comes through on the finish, perfectly balancing the brew’s delightful richness.

I don't think I got as much of the smores flavor as I would have liked, but still really tasty.

Sweet stout treat

It’s actually not as rich as I was expecting, which is nice because it’s a lot. I’d recommend letting it sit in your mouth for a little bit before swallowing because it really lets you get a full range of the flavors it carries.

Not as smooth as I would like the chocolate flavor is the but that’s all
3.5
Very rich chocolate flavors not very much marshmallow

Tasted like a good imperial stout but didn’t get much of the s’more flavor

I’m not sophisticated enough to describe this beer! But I enjoyed it and mostly got a nice syrupy chocolate flavor from it.

Chocolaty snicker doodle. Heavy but good!

Campfire in my mouth

Exactly what it needs to be, with some booziness.

Very nice “dessert” taste! Pretty heavy but one glass was excellent!

Nice!

As a chocolate imperial stout, really knocks it out of the part. S’mores flavor? I suppose it’s there, definitely catch the smell of molasses in the aroma but didn’t taste much of those graham crackers

Argh they ruined this with the cinnamon

The nose smells like its going to be a sugar bomb but comes across the palate nicely and finishes dry. Overall a very solid stout.

This is one of my favorite beers of all time!

When I seen this, I was happy as hell, and maxed out the allotment I could get. I don’t like pastry stouts, but this one is different. It’s a liquid s’more. I truly hope that somehow Tavour can get some of the BA version.

The pleasant chocolate, cinnamon and marshmallow notes are crushed by the extremely bitter finish.

S’mores for days.

Can’t go wrong with Westbrook stouts and s’mores

There’s a lot going on in this beer. I found it difficult to taste some of the flavors brewed into it. The richness and body come across as a bit cloying. Having said the foregoing, it’s a decent pastry stout but didn’t live up to its description in my opinion.

Very nice chocolate, marshmallow, and cinnamon flavors. Smooth base with subtle graham cracker undertones.

I was excited for this one to come up but ended up kinda disappointed. All I taste is SUPER dark chocolate
4.25
Nice hints of s'mores without being overpowering

I like stouts and chocolate. This is a wonderful combination of both. This is a very milky stout that kind of drinks like an ale. I don’t get much of a s’mores flavor beyond the chocolate though. Overall a good beer and with 11% ABV I would reorder again

Very vanilla, not so much smores

Mostly chocolate with a hint of vanilla, drinkable pastry stout for sure

If s’mores is what you’re looking for, this delivers! A little sweet for me but overall still really enjoyed it

Tastes of a charred smokiness, taste the alcohol as is not barrel aged. Was good to try but not to stock up on.
4.5
Perfect flavors of marshmallow, chocolate and almost molasses-heavy graham crackers. It smells just like a Mexican bakery due to the cinnamon, but the cinnamon subtly brings everything together with the aromas and flavors. This is a killer stout!

S’more taste for sure. Solid stout

Too boozy, can mr taste the adjuncts

Boozy, with a nice chocolatey cinnamon flavour

Unlike other S’more beers I could actually taste all the elements of the campfire treat. I do wish it came in a smaller bottle, it was a lot to get through in one night.
4.25
The best big size item I have bought.

Flavor was there but a bit thin for my tastes. Perhaps I left it for a bit too long... But something this big should have held up better. It's not a bad beer, but I've had better and it def could be thicker
4.25
Very toasty flavor
4.25
S’mores in a thick, rich beer. Nose is super chocolatey & graham crackery. Starts off sweet but mellows a bit into the chocolate & marshmallow & cinnamon. Cinnamon lingers lightly.

Too much cinnamon and bitter chocolate

Delicious but not my style beer!

A winter warmer smore stout. The right amount of cinnamon. Perfect amount of sweetness

Very strong. But could taste the cinnamon

Missing a lot of the adjuncts
