Hypothetically, if this were a fill-in-the-blank-question on some sort of beer nerd test…I’d be willing to bet you wouldn’t answer C. Imperial India Pale Ale.

Because, as any hazehead knows, finding a Gin Barrel-Aged IPA is a little like finding a needle in a haystack. It just never happens. Until…well, this beer.

Tasting Notes

Thanks to generous additions of stone-fruity Sabro, tangy El Dorado, and zesty Citra Hops, every sip flourishes with bright nuances of freshly-sliced tangerine, drippy mango, and earth-sweet honeydew. The gin barrels only enhance these tropical flavors, conjuring bits of grapefruit pith, dry pine, and a touch of spicy coriander.

Never had a gin barrel aged IPA. It was a lot cleaner and crisp with good IPA flavors than I thought, and the gin barreling did enhance the enjoyment.

I don't like gin but this is really good. Reminds me of Sprite with a slight herbal gin aftertaste

A very oakey aroma right off the bat. Hints of honey. The gin barrel aged flavor is crazy.. It’s like sippin a gin in beer form. I can’t really describe it. There is mild tropical flavors while tasting before you get lost in the mix of booze.

Nose and aromas are wonderful, but the beer does not follow through when sipped. Smells amazing, tastes like they just threw their staple IPA in gin barrels and said “voila!”. Not a lot coming from the barrel or gin aspects in terms of flavor. Aroma is wonderful tho

pretty vacant on initial taste but as it warms the gin notes present. surprisingly, I’d say it’s a mid-day kinda beer worth a taste

This slays! Fantastic barrel. The Gin dominates in a good way as herbal stylings dance upon the tropical IPA notes. Very unique and beautifully executed.

Strong scent of gin and juniper, with hints of lime. IPA is less hoppy, allowing the gin to really shine, but perhaps detracting from a richer, more intense depth of flavor. Subtle notes of lime and pine. Crisp, clean finish. Just as (if not better) than advertised.
