A Note on This Beer

Normally, filling your beer fridge with gremlins would be a truly terrible idea. They’d destroy your fridge, trash your home, and worst of all, drink all your beer.

But, today’s brew is a GREMLIN you actually want in your fridge!

Instead of a trouble-making, vaguely reptilian beast, it’s a Sour Wheat Ale brewed with real mango, chili, and lime. It tastes like a tart, spicy, and slightly smokey mango margarita you’d get at an upscale tiki bar.

And it doesn’t come from a mysterious antique store like the gremlins from that movie. This brew sprang from Colorado’s Black Project, where they make nothing but tart, mixed fermentation beers.

And fans can’t get enough! The Denver Post even named them Brewery of the Year — quite a feat in the craft soaked Rocky Mountain State!

So, grab yourself a few cans of Gremlin, and treat yourself to a sip of its tropical fruit and mellow heat. And, if you want to pair it with a brilliant 1980s comedy/horror movie about evil little beasts invading a sleepy town, there’s only one obvious choice: Critters.

Black Project is one of Food and Wine’s Essential Colorado Breweries!

Solid tart beer with some definite heat on the backend. Would recommend with a food pairing.

I like the sour, but the pepper is just a little too strong for my tastes. Left my lips burning long after the last sip.

This style is for people so numb that the acetic acid doesnt mute the flavors.

Sadly a bit too sour and bitter for my tastes. Could hardly taste any mango over the lime.

I’m not really a fan of the spicy after taste but this beer may be delicious for others

The lime and pepper are overpowering with the mango being non-existent. I'd pair it with some tacos as a complement. Decent, but not $8.00 a can worth.
