Anchorage always crafts amazing dark beer, but have you had a chance to try one of their Belgian Dark Strong Ales? Now’s your opportunity!

Iron meets iron with this decadent and mouthwatering brew, barrel aged for an entire year in Woodford Reserve Barrels. Complex dark fruit and malt notes swirl in each sip, loaded with delicious plum flavors. Then, the barrel aging swoops in, adding signature Bourbon characteristics of charred oak, luscious vanilla, and robust cacao.

Dark fruit aromas and taste, medium body. ABV well hidden , unlike other high ABV Anchorage brews. Not as complex as the previous Anchorage ales I had.

Outstanding Belgian Dark! Borders on/near Barleywine notes with slight hints of the Belgian esters. The barrel character really increases the depth of flavor and enjoyability of this fine libation. ISO more.

the sweetness hits you up front like a perfectly ripe fruit. but it’s not overly sweet. once the fruit sweet subsided you are left with the oak finish that seems to linger on for a long time. quite enjoyable how the flavors develop on the tongue. it will be interesting to let my second bottle age.

This is wonderful. Toffee and caramel galore. Profile reminds me of one of their renowned barleywines but drinks lighter. Smooth mouthfeel. Love it.

Delicious! Solid bourbon, boozy, vanilla notes coated with brown sugar and dark fruit sweetness, and a oaky warm finish sprinkled with dark chocolate bitterness. Smooth with a lingering bourbon aftertaste.
