Before today, not a single drop from Aurora Brewing Company had ever left New York State. 

And, that’s understandable — this nano-sized brewery only produces a few tiny batches each week, and the regulars seldom let a drop slip through their fingers.

Like Gene from Syracuse, who always SHOUTS the same thing on their Instagram whenever he's excited about a new brew: “Hachi Machi!!!” 

The Aurora crew loved his catchphrase so much, they decided to brew an IPA in his honor! According to founder and head brewer Mark Grimaldi, “we didn’t tell him that we were naming the beer after him, and he totally blew his top when we released it. And, he happened to be there when we were making this [second] batch, so I brought him in and let him dry hop his beer.”

That’s right — Hachi Machi Gene himself actually helped hop up this brew with a mighty dose of Citra, Citra Cryo, Mosaic Cryo, Galaxy, and Mandarina Bavaria! 

So, when you sip its raging flood of tangy tangerine, ripe pineapple, and juicy mango flavors, you can give a little toast to Gene. And a BIG toast to Mark and his crew, because they actually made this stuff.
