About This Beer
The brewers loaded this decadent brew with coffee, hazelnuts, and maple syrup. Each sip of this enchanting treat is like tasting a sticky-sweet stack of flapjacks slathered in maple and adorned with crushed nuts to give it an otherworldly flavor.
Tasting Notes
Notes of espresso play off the sweetness of the syrup, making the brew taste almost mocha-like. Add a flourish of toasted-nuttiness, and you’ll forget that this is a beer and not a full-blown dessert from your favorite bakery!

First one I had hazelnut was all I could taste.Let this age a bit and the hazelnut calms down and and you get the chocolate and pastry. Very nice!!

Tasty, but like most Hubbard’s Cave’s beers I’ve had, cloyingly sweet and difficult to finish

Nice coffee flavor, heavy and creamy, great breakfast beer! Makes me want to try all of their others!

Tastes like a Hazelnut latte without the creamy milk flavor. Doesn’t feel like a 12% beer, drinks much smoother

Very sweet and very rich so I could probably only do one in a sitting. Hazelnut is very forward and ads a roasty element. Overall really good but limited to how many you could probably stomach.

Tastes like breakfast

Very tasty, but the flavor is a lot. Not something I can drink a lot of due to the sweetness.

At first, overly sweet, but as it went along really fantastic. Definitely a dessert beer or maybe one to enjoy after breakfast

If breakfast for dinner is on the menu you definitely want this beer to accompany it.

Smooth with sweet after taste

Usually enjoy their beers and this was no exception. Loved the taste but not too sweet. Haven’t been disappointed yet on anything they brew.

I don’t like it but I have to give it a good score because It tastes like what’s advertised. Imagine coffee with hazelnut syrup and maple syrup followed by some cake like malt flavors. Xxxtra thicc mouthfeel. Looks pretty and if you like sweet coffee liquor you’ll probably dig this. Not for me.

Like drinking a chocolate cake

It does taste like a coffee cake but not in a good way. You can taste the hazelnut coffee with a hint of maple syrup. It also tastes like a yeasty, bread pastry. It is what it advertises but I didn’t care for it.

Good stuff, like the hazelnut

A very nice imperial pastry stout. It hits all the notes it’s claims to, cake, maple syrup, etc. It’s too sweet for me but that’s my fault trying a pastry stout when I’m a RIS fan. Pay attention to the description and if it sounds good to you, you’ll love it.

Really thick viscous pour...deep maple and Hazelnut flavors

Great flavor but too sweet. Needs more bittering of some sort

A little harsh on the coffee flavor but still really good. Can only really drink one of these.

Very coffee and bitter-forward. Nutty. Smooth.

This one was spectacular. Strong coffee notes most definitely, especially of black coffee. Underneath that, the hazelnut comes through more so than the pancake flavor but they all work together just excellently. Will definitely reorder.

Sweet but very smooth for a 12%

Very sweet at first taste. The maple is definitely prevalent. The espresso undertone does smooth it down some which is a good thing.

Heavy maple nose, hazelnut is understated; coffee is strong on the finish. Well balanced.

Big hazelnut. Good coffee. A bit sweet.

Not overly hazelnut, but appreciate that ... Nice sweet coffee and cake-like stout flavor

Really good overall flavor with maple and pancake notes, with coffee. Very strong, though, at 12% and couldn’t finish. Sneaks up on you.
