A Note on This Beer
Seattle natives have two essential tips for newcomers. The first: it rains. A lot. Get a jacket with a hood. The second: Go to Fremont Brewing. Release days are like holidays that you don’t wanna miss.
As Seattle locals here at Tavour, we’re equipped with all the rain gear, and we practically live at Fremont’s taproom. We’re always thirsty for their award-winning brews and cozy community vibe. Even on drizzly days, we join our neighbors crowding together under tents, swarming the heat lamps, munching on free pretzels and merrily sippin’ suds.
Stumble into Fremont right now, and you’ll be part of the jubilant celebration fueled by fresh hops. Because of Fremont’s proximity to the largest hop-growing region in the country (just over the mountains in Yakima Valley) they have access to truckloads of fresh-from-the-field hops for a few short weeks out of the year. They toss these fresh hops into the boil within hours of harvest -- the resulting hop character is so vivid, it’s downright impossible to recreate with standard dried hops.
Sipping Fremont’s fresh-off-the-line Head Full of Fresh Hops Hazy IPA, you’ll feel like you’re part of the harvest, as bright aromas of grass and citrus fill the air. Fremont draws out every hint of the dank, orangey, pine character of Mosaic and Ekuanot Hops. The addition of Lactose creates a creamy mouthfeel and a smooth playground for the fresh hop notes to frolic across the palate.
Speaking of frolicking -- we better wrap this up so we can zip over to Fremont. Available for just a few short weeks, we wanna sip down as much of this fresh hoppy haze as we can while it’s still around.
