About This Beer
To craft this one, the renowned crew fermented and aged a bold Oat Stout base in Missouri oak foeders. Then they conditioned the brew on an Alaskan-sized pile of toasted coconut.
Tasting Notes
Every thick quaff is like a coconut mocha with whispers of wood and vanilla wafting throughout. The luxuriously creamy finish begs another sip.

Wonder if this beer is starting to sour? it tastes off, something isn’t right. Anyone else?

had to be a defective can

lots of sweet wood with a touch of sourness from the foeder aging. coconut comes through on finish. not my fav but not bad.

I’m with the other reviewers. Something seemed weird with mine so I ended up pouring it out.

Good, but not what I was expecting.

My condolences to those who got an infected batch, ‘cause this is a masterpiece of oat stout goodness: medium thickness, creamy, chocolate, coffee, subtle tartness, coconut. One of the best non-BBA stouts I’ve had.

I, too, got an infected can. yikes. I have a lot of respect for anchorage brewing, but this is really bad.

unfortunately the beer hat turned

oxidized? doesn't even taste like a stout. kinda tart

Sour and well, OFF. Lots of reviews claiming Tavour may have gotten a bum batch but something went wrong here. Not typical Anchorage. Tavour has started putting stickers on can bottoms covering date it was canned. Mine was from 9/2/22

sour as hell. Big QC problems at anchorage.

Drain pour! Was very excited about this one and it is really off!

good mouthfeel, but flavors are somewhat conflicting and too strong, almost like a soured vanilla

something is wrong, I brought this to a share and everyone spit it out

Not Bad, a bit thin, good flavor. Not the usually top notch anchorage stout that I’ve become accustomed to.

this is another huge disappointment. it’s nice and thick and great foam but it’s sour and I taste no stout or coconut. just pathetic

Bought 4 and they're all infected.

a little too heavy if you ask me

I think mine were infected unfortunately since both cans had a sour and soy sauce quality that I can only assume was unintended.

The kind of rich, deep, flavor that you don't want to say goodbye to.

The coconut is prominent. Too much. Also, very sweet.

I felt it is not one of the best from Anchorage but still pretty good. At first I thought it’s metallic and off straight out of the fridge. this is a stout that definitely needed to warm before it hit its potential.

Poured an aggressive, cola like head and smelled of soy and must. Acrid and acidic to the taste.
Both cans opened infected.

had one that was great and one that tasted like soy sauce. some reviews show the same inconsistency. if you get the good one it’s good the bad ones are ass flavor bad.

not my favorite from them

I’m with the other reviewers. this stout tasted sour and off

I really didn’t enjoy this one. There’s a bile-ish flavor mixed with the stout notes that really turned my stomach. And it was weirdly thick, even for an Anchorage brew. Didn’t finish.

bad batch. got that pepper/soy sauce taste. usually excellent stouts but this was bad.

look: 4 | smell: 4 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.25
Poured from a 16 ounce can into a snifter.
Look- Black, frothy dark brown head, opaque, below average head retention and lacing.
Smell- Cocoa, coconut, coffee, oak, medium strength of scent.
Taste- Fruity, oak, coconut, cocoa, sour, sweet, medium strength of flavor.
Feel- Between thin and medium body, sour, sweet, average carbonation, silky, mildly creamy, mildly mouth watering finish.
Overall- Look was black with a dark brown head that dissipated quickly and had virtually no lacing. Bouquet was a pleasant mix of cocoa, coconut, coffee and oak. The bouquet did not come close to matching the flavors. The taste had an unidentifiable fruitiness with an abundance of sour and sweet character. Feel was much thinner than expected with some silkiness and a bunch of sourness. Overall this beer felt like a cross between a stout and a sour. This brewery has a tremendous problem of not living up to the expectations set by their pricing.
