A Note on This Beer
The Fact: To craft today’s Helles for Sinners, the 4x GABF medal winners at Logsdon teamed up with the 2019 Oregon State Homebrewer of the year, Russell Berger.
The Reality: Pair a decorated homebrewer — whose creativity knows no bounds — with the palate-pushing expertise of the Logsdon crew, and out comes the “bad boy” of Helles Lagers.
The Result: Each crisp n’ smoky swig swims with all the authentic, crisp flavor you won’t find at any snazzy cocktail bar in America.
They craft this smoke-show of a Helles Lager with 100% Weyermann Malts, German Noble Hops, and traditional Bavarian Lager yeast. And, they also use a restrained addition of Beechwood Smoked Malt for an added layer of smoky complexity!
With its soft hazy, straw color, light spice, herbaceous notes from the Noble Hops, and well-balanced bit of smoke, this Helles is leagues beyond those “safe options” at the bar.
It’s truly a brew for the craft-connoisseurs who aren’t afraid to push the bounds of tradition.
