About This Beer
Craft fans in the know covet Wayfinder’s GABF and Oregon Beer Award-winning concoctions. Even Craft Beer & Brewing calls the brewery “a Lager geek’s dream.” And after a sip of this crushable yet complex can, you’ll see they’re so hyped!
Tasting Notes
Espresso aroma bursts from the dark pour, drawing you in with rich hints of toffee. A deceptively smooth quaff follows, with malty notes of cacao and silky cold brew flooding your palate with a bittersweet boldness. A lightly smokey tinge from freshly toasted rye bread flavor grounds the gulp with a clean finish.

Packed with roasty chocolate flavor but still light and very drinkable.

Flavor is of chocolate, biscuit, brown sugar, and a bit of almond and walnut. Very tasty, good body, drinks very easy. Pleasant all around and super smooth. One of the better dark Euro lagers I have ever had.

Clean roasted lage. Drinks very smooth with a lot of body.

Dark-roasted malt flavors with a nice chocolate finish, but light and clean – this is the joy of dark lagers.

A favorite type of brew for me. This one is more lager than dark lager. Almost an amber. Really good though.

Nice lager punch, quite malty.

Lots of flavor, not super intense, just a great and drinkable beer. Wayfinder does some great black lagers

Really sold black lager. Roasty, yet refreshing.

I'm conflicted. The front end was clean and cold brew coffee-esque, almost a little soapy. There was minimal depth of flavor on the body and it felt almost too thin. Finishes with some coffee roast and very restrained sweetness. Was hoping for a little more richness from all the good things I've heard.

Light dark and quite enjoyable.

1/14/21 Malt forward and roasty. Awesome black lager.

nice Malty lager!

Unique dark brew, like a stout & lager had a kid: malty up front, with brown ale character. A hint of bitterness creeps in toward the middle, but then the smoke comes on, well after it finishes, like burnt chocolate and coffee. Awesome combo.

it's really in a weird place between two styles of beer and showcases none of the good aspects of either styles.

a smooth black lager with that balanced burnt biscuit back. Wayfinder kills the lager game.

Translucent chestnut brown pour. Frothy tan head. Toasted malt aroma hints at cocoa and brown bread. Flavor is earthy and dry. Toasted malt, nutty and clean. Maybe a hint of figs or dates on backend. Tasty, nonetheless.
