A Note on This Beer
Have you ever tried Loganberry Pie? Heck, have you ever even tried a loganberry??
They’re a raspberry-blackberry hybrid that was accidentally invented in 1881. Without them, we wouldn’t have today’s delicious collab from 3 Sons Brewing and Mortalis Brewing Co!
Those beloved brewers came together to cook up Hydra Berry Pie, a Fruited Sour they stuffed with 5,000 lbs of tangy and succulent loganberries, along with graham cracker, cinnamon, and vanilla.
The result is a velvety, capital-”T”-Thick brew, bursting with berry flavor, a hint of crusty warmth, and a nice balancing tartness. Over on Untappd, users have rated almost every addition to the Mortalis’ Hydra Fruited Sour series a 4.50 or higher — no wonder their NY brewhouse always has a line around the block!
This particular fruity sipper lives up to the hype! It’s proved so popular that 3 Sons even had to remove the cans from their online ordering after only 4 days! So, unless you live near their Florida taproom, it’s ungettable.
Well, almost. We managed to sneak away a few cases for our Tavour reserves. Now, some of you lucky folks outside of the sunshine state can try this elusive loganberry dessert for yourselves!
*3 Sons Brewing won Gold at the Hunahpu’s Day Festival for Best Brewery and Best Beer two years in a row!
