A Note on This Beer
If you go to Hawaii at the right time of year, you can come back with something WAY better than a flowery T-shirt or dancing hula figurine.
Maui Brewing calls it their GABF Gold-winning Imperial Coconut Porter, but you’ll call it chocolatey heaven!
This seasonal release pours black as night and owes its lavish decadence to hand-toasted coconut, raw coconut, and hefty doses of black and chocolate malts. The brewers even blend in cacao nibs during the maturation process to intensify the beer’s dark chocolate aromas.
The resulting treat tastes like a fudge-dipped macaroon from a gourmet bakery!
Cellar it for years to let its cinnamon-sprinkled almond and fresh-ground espresso undertones mellow even further into a silky special-occasion treat. Of course, that’s only if you can resist diving in right away for that chocolatey coconut gratification!
The good news is, you don't need to plan a trip to the Aloha State to stock up on this prized Porter.
We grabbed a stash of Maui’s latest 9.4% ABV batch just for Tavour, but we have less than 50 cases left!
Better grab an extra bottle while you can — that way, you won’t have to choose between enjoying now and letting it cellar into deeper opulence.
*Imperial Coconut Porter is one of the beers that elevated Maui to international acclaim. It snagged a GABF Gold Medal in 2016, and the BeerAdvocate community ranks it one of the Top 50 Imperial Porters in the World!
Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Maui Brewing Company is certified independent by the Brewers Association
