About This Beer
New Image started this one back in 2019 with a chewy English-style base built for extended barrel aging. They loaded it into 30% rye whiskey barrels and left it in their cellar to age for 33 full months for pronounced nuances of bourbon caramel, vanilla oak, and woody spice.
Tasting Notes
Decadent rye nuances lead the sip with rich molasses and brown sugar coursing into candied date and fig on every thick quaff. Dark chocolate and creme anglaise rise on the end with wafts of spiced oak, all hiding a bold 15.82% ABV.

Very strong barrel notes on this one, fantastic!

Not sure which was thicker - the body or the wax job? A lot of stout-like characteristics. Rye barrel, molasses, chocolate, subtle dried fruits. Over the top viscosity detracted from it somewhat

This is a knockout. Exactly what I’m looking for in a BA barleywine
