About This Beer
The brewers originally crafted this 15.86 ABV behemoth back in 2019, aging it in bourbon barrels for nearly 3 years before they finally tasted it for the first time. To make this incredible wood-finished release, they selected the barrels with the most prominent notes of dark fruit, caramel, and a touch of char.
They blended those choice barrels together, and then conditioned the brew on sugar maple and American oak, accentuating the malty tones of the base brew even more.
Tasting Notes
All that time on wood manifests itself with notes of subtly smoky char and nuances of vanilla at the start of the sip. Those flavors are quickly overtaken by notes of candied date, fig preserves, and dark chocolate. Toasted sugar and a touch of maple come through towards the end, for a sweet finish that lingers on the palate.
