About This Beer

Anchorage is one of the first breweries to use Phantasm Powder. This time around, they’ve made a Mixed Culture Ale, fermented and aged in Missouri Oak with Saison yeast, a Brettanomyces and house mixed culture, and then dry-hopped with Phantasm Powder, Galaxy, and Strata Hops. Finally, they bottle conditioned it with passion fruit.

Tasting Notes

Hefty pine aromas emanate and swirl at first from the rare Phantasm. These powdered Sauvignon Blanc grape skins create ridiculously bold aromas of time-bending dankness! A spacious dose of Strata and Galaxy Hops splash the taste buds with peach, lemon, and pithy grapefruit zest. The fruity notes blend with acidity and oak-y tinges from the barrel aging. A juicy finish lingers, bringing a balanced sweetness from passion fruit additions.

More sour than anticipated, but good overall flavor. I didn't really start enjoying it til the bottom half and the tartness set in

A good sour. Very fruity and juicy. Brett heavy sours are always a little too sweet for me, but this one is pretty good

I mixed the sediment on the bottom of the bottle on this one and it really brought the fruit forward from the first sip. excellent and not too complex

Complex, musty, ideal for a barrel-aged sour. Passionfruit comes through more strongly than anticipated. Base-level funkiness complemented by a bright, tropical finish.

Light, has a sour start and strong wood notes. Unfortunately it doesnt blend together as well as anchoranges other offerings.
