A Note on This Beer
To make a truly refreshing summer sip, sometimes you have to take the long route. Luckily, the team at Elder Pine Brewing & Blending doesn’t cut corners.
They crafted today’s crisp, refreshing New Zealand Pilsner with floor-malted Bohemian wheat and malt. This old world method involves sprouting and drying the grain, while spreading and shoveling it over a finely grated floor. It takes a few days, but the result is a deeper, smoother flavor.
Then they finished the brew with plenty of Wai-iti and Riwaka Hops — New Zealand varieties that overflow with flavors of lime, grapefruit, pineapple, and passionfruit.
Isostatic Rebound opens with the welcoming scent of wildflowers that soon giveaway to nuances of citrus and tropical fruit. The bready backbone stands up to the hoppy flavors, providing wafting aromas of biscuits throughout the sip.
You won’t find a Pilsner like this just anywhere — in fact, you’d be lucky to find it outside of the D.C. area! So, go ahead: grab a few cans to crush in the sunshine and taste the old world difference.
