It seems the Oak-Aged Sour specialists at The Rare Barrel managed to bottle up a glimmer of childhood bliss! 

It’s called Juice Elixir (2020), and it’s packed to the brim with real oranges, carrots, and ginger for buckets of bright, cheerful flavors. 

The brewers describe the use of carrots in today’s brew as a “step into the unknown.” And, as Brad and I can attest, it totally paid off. 

After months of fermenting in Oak Barrels, they blend Juice Elixir’s earthy base with oranges for that sunshiney-touch of citrus, balanced by an inviting warmth from the ginger.

Every succulent taste features layers of tropical juice and subtle carrot sweetness, rounded out with tart complexity. Absorbing each lush sip, I imagine myself stumbling down my childhood staircase, prepping for that morning-saving swig of freshly-squeezed OJ.
