A Note on This Beer
There are few pairings that are matches made in heaven. Yet, the Maryland Craft Beer Award Gold Medalists at Elder Pine will tell you — coffee and whiskey is their favorite combo of them all!
This is exactly why these decorated crafters combined these two beloved libations into today's Jupiter’s Cake Imperial Stout.
They started by aging over 100 gallons of cold brew coffee in freshly-emptied Sagamore Rye Whiskey Barrels for 10 months to infuse it with nuances of rye spiciness and warm cinnamon.
After the roasty cold brew had its long barrel slumber, the brewers blended it with an Imperial Stout base made with real maple syrup, chocolate, vanilla, and additional freshly-roasted coffee beans!
The result is a decadently dark sipper packed with bold notes of robust espresso, bittersweet cacao nibs, and just a hint of maple sweetness on the finish. These irresistibly dark flavors seamlessly meld together on the palate in a silky 11% ABV body that makes it a great nightcap to wind down with.
But just like my heart rate after my morning java fix, our tiny 20-case stash is bound to go fast. So claim your cans now, and indulge in a new liquid ritual.
