A Note on This Beer
Allow me to kick some knowledge to you about today’s creamsicle Milkshake IPA:
- It’s brewed by the collab kings of NYC at Barrier! This crew has a history of teaming up with some of the best IPA houses in the country, from Other Half in NY all the way to Alvarado Street in CA. Even though they flew solo this time around, their hop mastery bursts in every sip.
- It’s the newest variant in Barrier’s beloved Kickin’ Knowledge series! Each of these Milkshake IPAs features real coconut and vanilla in addition to lactose and a fruity hop trifecta for flavors that are like candy to juice junkies.
- It’s a freakin’ Creamsicle! The brewers crafted this batch with “genius amounts” of orange purée alongside Mosaic, Motueka, and Citra Hops. Every sip is jam-packed with citrusy brightness swirled around a sweet n’ tangy, ice cream-like smoothness.
This creamsicle brew is a super sippable treat that delights AND excites. It’s almost impossible not to revel in how smooth, downable, and milkshake-thick this brew is!
So here’s the last bit of knowledge I’m gonna kick your way: if you want to get a taste of the creamy, dreamy brew that fans like @allisagiv are calling “SSSOOO GOOOOD,” don’t dilly-dally.
Outside of the Northeast, this is the only place to get it.

Not bad. Was hoping it would have more of a ice cream flavor, but instead it’s just a good IPA. Don’t get me wrong I’m enjoying it.

A little disappointed. I can taste the orange flavor, and it's an ok IPA. But I was really expecting it to be thicker and creamier. If I didn't know it was a "milkshake" IPA, I wouldn't have guessed it. I'll pick something else next time I want a milkshake IPA.

Nice IPA, not really any creamsicle flavor I was expecting. Feels more like a straight up ipa.

Hazy, low head, smooth, creamy flavor with notes of citrus. The lactose in the ale allows for the beer to envelop your tongue; forcing you to taste all the flavors at once.

Didn’t like this one at all unfortunately

Daily corona battle. Over it edition. But this is tasty. I was worried it would be too orange syrupy sweet, but while the orange and vanilla do really shine, it’s also hopfull enough to ring as an ipa. Smooth and orange creamy.

I wish it had slightly more of a creamsicle taste, but it was easy to drink and pretty tasty nonetheless!
