A Note on This Beer
How hard is it to get your hands on a can of cherry-blasted Kriek from Chicago’s Une Année Brewery? This is the first time we’ve managed to snag a taste since 2017! It took more than 4 years!
In other words, outside of The Windy City, this brew is about as common as a 29th day in February.
If you were on Tavour back in the day, you might actually remember this beer — it earned a pile of 4+ ratings on the app, and we expect history to repeat itself. Every sip of this Lambic-style mixed fermentation brew swims in so much bright cherry flavor, fans can’t help but fall head over heels in love!
Open the can, and tart aromas from bold additions of Morello cherries come billowing out. Take a sip, and complex notes of lemongrass, clove, and just a hint of barnyard funk inundate the taste buds with layers of bright, fruity flavor, all leading to a puckeringly sour finish.
When will we get this beer again? Who knows. Maybe in 2024, just in time for the Paris Olympics. If you want to try a sip before then, you’ll have to snag a can from our little stash before it disappears.
