A Note on This Beer

Today, we convinced Bullfrog to share less than 240 bottles of their vibrant raspberry Le Roar Grrrz Framboise Gueuze (2019 Vintage)!

Gueuzes are the most meticulously made Sour Ales in the world, created from blends of several years of oak-aged Lambics. Most of the top-rated in the style come straight from Belgium, so it’s pretty insane to find an American version that ranks among the best.

That’s why Pennsylvania’s Bullfrog is such a special brewery. And, why Sour Ale geeks from across the country offer up the best Belgian and Barrel-Aged Sours in their cellars to get their hands on these nano-sized batches of brilliance.

This Sour star is rated an ‘outstanding’ 92/100 on BeerAdvocate — one sip and you’ll understand why. Check out the amount of time and care that went into crafting this Framboise:

  • The base blend is oak-aged for 4 years, building a foundation of wild funk and woody spice.
  • Then, the brewers age it for 6 additional months on raspberries, extracting their orchard-fresh juicy sweetness.

This is one of the only brews outside of Belgium to so flawlessly replicate the delicately fruity raspberry flavor in Gueuze form. It’s even more rare for the jammy character to come through a body of balanced tartness and funk, trailing off into a pleasantly dry finish.

The last Le Roar Grrrz we shared scored a monstrous 4.40 on Tavour! Isn’t it time you joined the tiny community of Sour Ale aficionados that can pridefully say they’ve had a taste?

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Bullfrog Brewery is certified independent by the Brewers Association
