A Note on This Beer

One of my favorite childhood memories is mom’s fresh, homemade lemon bars. Each of those charming yellow squares, dusted with powdered sugar and perched atop a flaky crust, burst with tart, citrusy flavor. It took all my willpower to keep from eating the whole batch!

I’ve never tasted anything that rivaled mom’s bars — until today. Legendary Lemon from Lil Beaver Brewing gushes with so much sweet-tart, lemony taste that if I closed my eyes, I’d barely know the difference.

The pastry chefs at Lil Beaver stuffed this succulent Blonde Ale with tons of juicy lemons, velvety vanilla, lactose, and real lemon cake! Each smooth sip is like savoring a bite of creamy, gooey lemon bar with a sweet pastry finish.

I’m not the only one who’s over-the-moon for these luscious lemons. @Dylan A. declares, “I've been waiting for this ever since I saw the video of them dumping lemon cakes into their beer, and it definitely lives up to the hype.”

If you’re craving a taste of these Legendary Lemons, I recommend getting your spoons ready! Lil Beaver’s brews rarely leave Illinois, and you probably won’t find THIS dessert in mom’s kitchen.

Very unique. Impressive on the lemon flavor without overdoing it. Nice silky vanilla aftertaste.

So simply put, this is one of the best beers I have ever had. Granted, I have a lifelong obsession with lemon. But this is like drinking a lemon bar. I only regret not buying more.

Citrus flavors can be obliterated by the brewing process; not this time. In fact, I could do with a bit LESS lemon here. This drinks more like a sour beer than a dessert blonde ale. (The nose is a big cloud of powdered sugar, but the lemon tang obliterates that on the tongue.) I wasn’t able to finish a whole can of this puckery stuff.
