A Note on This Beer

10 years is an eternity in the music scene. Think about this: The Beatles had a 7 year run as a recording act. Nirvana changed the face of rock in a mere 5 years; heck, 10 years is longer than Ozzy’s stint as the lead singer of Black Sabbath!

It goes without saying that August Burns Red’s album Leveler is a persevering piece of metalcore mastery, and 2021 marks 10 years since its release!

With today’s beer, we bang our heads and salute the services of a decade in down-tunage with this malty, hoppy Red Ale made by the fine brew crew at Elder Pine!

Leveler Red Ale is as big and bold as a breakdown at the outro — Simcoe and Columbus Hops headline citrusy flavors with piney and floral aromatics. A supporting cast of Golden Oats and Biscuit Rye add malty honey flavors that hold up the screaming guitar solo of hop juice.

We should also mention this is one super rare find — outside of you lucky Tavour members, this special edition will only be offered locally to the band’s Pennsylvania fans!

Hit the pit and bring this limited can of Leveler with you in honor of August Burns Red’s musical masterpiece!

Tune in to the band’s website on May 22nd for their livestream in celebration of 10 years of LEVELER!

Nice, crisp hoppy flavor with a very slight tinge of fruit on the back end! Another killer brew from Elder Pine and ABR!

As President and Sergeant-at-Arms of the Tavour Hops Haters Society, I must congratulate Elder Pine on pulling off a magnificent feat – making a hoppy ale that is NOT punishingly bitter. Leveler is a harmony of hops, malt, and effortless drinkability.

Sweet caramel on the nose. Hops had a nice twist and brighten it up. Very refreshing.

Immediately hits with the red and then finishes with a touch of hops. Refreshing. Would drink again.

I want to love this beer as much as I love the band. But it isnt what it advertises. If it was labeled an IPA I'd be fine with it, because its flavor profile is very bitter. Nothing about its taste says red ale.

Probably the first Amber Ale that I would describe as hoppy, but it was a pleasant surprise. Also August Burns Red rules 🤘.

Malty like and amber, finishes like a red IPA. About as awesome as the album is

While on a technical level this is classified as a Amber ale, it is meant to taste like a red ale.

This was a great Red, really balanced with just enough of that malt and hops.

Creamy head, reddish amber color, floral and pine aromas with malt notes, citrus taste with a hint of pine, and lingering bitterness.
