About This Beer
San Francisco’s Lower Haight neighborhood is chock full of hippies, hipsters, and bohemian types. If you’re ever exploring it’s cafes and record stores, you’re likely to catch a hint of something dank on the breeze.
Kind of like this hop-packed Hazy! It comes from North Carolina, but get one whiff and you’ll think you’re in the parking lot at a Grateful Dead concert. And its vibe is just as mellow.
The crew at New Anthem stuffed this brew to the gills with Simcoe, Citra, Chinook, and Amarillo Hops. But it smells like something a tie-dye wearer might describe as ‘grapefruit kush’ or ‘passionfruit haze.’
Tasting Notes
The flavors follow the nose, with plenty of ruby red grapefruit, tangy tropical flavors of mango and guava. The finish is smoother than a silk scarf, with a touch of piney dank and a bit of pith to balance all the fruity notes.
