A Note on This Beer
Today’s Lush DIPA from Frost Beer Works is ranked alongside the legendary Heady Topper as one of the Top 25 New England IPAs in Vermont on BeerAdvocate.
Which means that in the birthplace of the Hazy IPA — one of the most competitive styles in craft beer today — this 4.34 BA rated brew is one of the very best.
So, yeah, I totally understand why hordes of dedicated Frost fans would show up to the taproom, wheelbarrows in tow, ready to haul away as many cans of this 8% ABV sipper as they can carry.
That’s basically what I did!
When I heard fans on UT calling today’s beer out as “fantastic,” and “the bar by which to judge all other juicy, hazy IPAs,” you can bet your bottom I flew back East, rented a U-Haul, and brought back as many cases as I could pry from their hands to share with you all.
If this is the first you’re hearing about these Vermont natives it’s only because their juicy, potent brews are nearly impossible to find outside the Northeast.
So by snagging a few cans of today’s dreamy brew, you get a chance to introduce your friends to the hoppy talents of one of Forbes 50 Fastest Growing Breweries in the Country.
And I’ll bet that after the first sip, they’ll be so freakin’ glad you did they’ll practically worship the hoppy ground you walk on.
Loaded with Equinox, Citra, and El Dorado Hops, Lush is brimming with aromas of ripe kiwi and bright tangerine. Layers of honeydew, mango kush, and creamy papaya burst onto the palate while notes of resinous pine balance out the thick juiciness. A pillowy-soft mouthfeel mellows a touch of hoppy bitterness, and the result is light and creamy.
Before you invite your buddies over to indulge in this pillowy soft sipper, make sure you have enough to share. Because once they get a taste, you can bet they’ll show up to your door with a wheelbarrow in tow, ready to clean out your entire stash.
