About This Beer
To craft this showstopper, the New Image barrel experts started with their oxidized Barleywine base. Inspired by madeira wine-making, this novel process involves sealing the brew in a tank with oxygen and gently warming it for an extended period. This rapidly ages the beer, creating the nuances of raisin, cherry, and toffee you’d typically find in a barrel conditioned brew without sweetening it or making it thicker.
Then they properly aged the Barleywine in sherry barrels, introducing deliciously vinous notes to the caramelly beer.
Tasting Notes
Every thick sip careens with nuances of sticky date, bread pudding, and brown sugar. Complex currents of berry and grape swirl underneath with warm notes of vanilla oak. All that intricacy expertly hides the enormous 16.89% ABV.
