A Note on This Beer
Apparently wacky Danish people are really good at Stouts.
Mikkeller and Evil Twin are both run by Danes and their boozy Dark Beers are world renowned. If you’re a fan of either of those breweries, you gotta check out today’s 12.5% ABV Mælk Shake Imperial Stout from Denmark’s To Øl Brewing!
The brewery is one of Food and Wine’s 15 Most Important Craft Breweries in Europe, and their limited release Stouts have been called out as some of the continent’s best by Forbes, Men’s Journal, and The Independent.
Europe’s craft fans have given this brew a massive 4.19 on UT, and most of those reviews aren’t in English because this specialty Stout is barely available in the states. This is a rare opportunity to pick up a bottle without booking a flight.
To Øl also maintains the Danish tradition of general wackiness with Mælk Shake. Here is their description:
Like Shredder from Ninja Turtles, we’ve torn apart an old and used Rum Barrel and added the wood chips to the beer for complexity. The nose has a crazy amount of sweet Vanilla, the body is viscous and the overall experience makes you want to grab for a straw while quoting: God Damn, that’s a pretty f*cking good Milkshake!
Before you get all judgy about the grammar, remember that English is not their first language.
Pick up a bottle of Mælk Shake and fall in love with a brand new bunch of Danish brewing weirdos. That way, the next time your buddies start yakking about Evil Twin or Mikkeller (or bragging about their latest Euro trip) you can go “yeah, but have you guys heard of To Øl?”
You can just fake the pronunciation. They won’t know.
