A Note on This Beer
Forget all this storming Area 51 nonsense — the real secrets are tucked away at Denver’s Black Project.
See, not only are all their beers named after top-secret government projects — Black Project’s Wild Ales are so otherworldly juicy that we’ve yet to see one with less than a 4+ rating on UT. They’ve gotta have some kind of secret brewing magic going on, right?
Seriously, these GABF Medalists have managed to soar to a higher brewery rating than fellow Wild Ale greats like Jester King and Lost Abbey. Coolship? More like spaceship!
But lean in and drop your voice to a whisper if you’re reading this aloud. Because today, Black Project let us in on their latest classified endeavor — MAGIC LANTERN: Apricot — Blood Orange — Passion Fruit!
They wouldn’t share the exact ingredients, but we do know that this brew is packed with real apricots, passion fruit, and blood oranges for extreme juiciness impossible to find in your average 4.4% ABV Sour. Just a sprinkle of pink Himalayan salt adds a touch of lip-smacking brine.
Like all Black Project brews, you’ll never see this one outside of Denver. The MAGIC LANTERN series normally doesn’t even leave the taproom. Ever.
But you’ve got security clearance with Tavour! Now’s your chance to snag MAGIC LANTERN: Apricot — Blood Orange — Passionfruit before the public finds out and storms the brewery for all the remaining bottles.
Hurry though, because secrets like this one don’t stay on lockdown for long!
This MAGIC LANTERN version is too new for ratings, but the last one holds a 4.38 on Untappd!
