When I was young, I was a sour candy fiend. You would often find me with Sour Patch Kids dust on my fingers or a Warhead in my mouth. 

Now, I get my tart fix from potently fruity Sour Ales like today’s MAINSTAY Mango Passion Fruit Sour from Black Project. 

Colorado is home to many of the top Sour-focused breweries, and a ton of the nation’s top overall. But, even with all that hefty competition, The Denver Post named Black Project 2-time Colorado Brewery of the Year!

I get my hands on every Black Project brew I can — and load up on the ones that come packed with my favorite real tropical fruits, like today’s ripe, drippy mango and tongue-tingling passion fruit.  

It tastes like I just took a bite out of each nectarous fruit, and coated the fruit with sour candy dust! 

Outside of Halloween, I think my candy days are over. Maybe, once more beer geeks get a taste of Black Project’s masterful skills, we’ll create a new holiday for adults to get dressed up in costumes — but we’ll ditch the candy and drink Sour Ales instead!
