The brewers at pFriem totally get the holiday hustle, which is why they brewed the perfect beer to unwind with after long hours of gift wrapping.

Their Maple Barrel Aged Smoked Porter (2020) billows with sweet n’ smoky flavors of fresh-baked pecan pie topped with maple-glazed bacon! 

And, the ABV is relaxed enough to keep my wife and me feelin’ festive all through a night of tying bows and snipping gift paper, without knocking us out. It’s so bold, with complex, dessert-like decadence, every sip feels like Christmas came early!

To make it, the brewers age their Smoked Imperial Porter in barrels that were initially used to house bourbon, then maple syrup. The result is a beer that emanates with woodfire smokiness balanced by sweet subtleties of melted chocolate, caramel, and of course, loads of sticky maple.

Coming from (literally) The Best Brewery in the World,* today’s pour is a true holiday miracle. The hustle doesn’t slow down for anybody, but at least you can sip on something merry and delicious to help you get through it.
