A Note on This Beer
Last year, The Beer Connoisseur’s editorial staff bestowed a certain Pacific Northwest brewery with the biggest praise possible:
“pFriem Family Brewers in Hood River, Oregon has produced some of the finest beers that our judges have ever had the privilege to imbibe. As such, pFriem can be called the Best Brewery in the World.”
See? We told you it was big! Tasting is believing though, and today’s Mexican Lager offers a chance to truly understand how pFriem came by their mighty reputation.
The brewers put their own spin on the refreshing style with additions of three different kinds of hops! Tettnang and Czech Saaz Hops give the brew a mild touch of peppery herbs, while Perle Hops round each sip out with airy, floral notes.
On top of a base brewed with malted barley and flaked maize (corn), it’s all layered in notes of freshly ground tortillas and honey biscuit crispness that pairs perfectly with carne asada tacos topped with pico de gallo!
Though, with so much crushability in pFriem’s Mexican Lager, don’t be surprised to find yourself reaching for a second bottle before you even finish your first taco.
*It’s not just The Beer Connoisseur loving pFriem — Craft Beer & Brewing gives today’s Mexican Lager an impressive 95/100!
