A Note on This Beer
Today’s Mezcal Barrel Exemption is a one way ticket to Oaxaca, where you can sip on a cold, complex brew in a lively cantina and forget about this quarantine life.
Aged in smoky mezcal barrels, this 9% ABV Belgian-style Tripel has so many layers of flavor, only Taxman, Indiana’s master of Belgian-inspired beers, could pull it off.
The crisp, golden sipper mingles with notes of lemon, orange zest, and coriander spices for a bright, fruity start and spicy base. Agave nectar adds a slight sweetness and imparts an earthy, herbaceous flavor in the smooth body.
Hints of smoke and heat from oak mezcal barrels finish subtly on the taste buds, lingering longer than a Mexican sunset. The balance of sweet, spicy, and smoky makes this fusion so unique.
Taxman only brews Mezcal Barrel Exemption once a year and it never leaves Indiana, except with Tavour. So, grab some cans for your next mental getaway before this south-of-the-border inspired stash disappears for another year!
