A Note on This Beer
For Sour fanatics, a new release from the Kings of Pucker Power at Cascade Brewing is like your birthday, only better. 18 months in the making, the shiny brand new Midnight Bramble comes to us as a supreme sourbration of ripe bramble fruit and bright herbs that’s already turning heads with a 4.16 rating on Untappd!
Cascade starts with their fan-favorite Blackcap Raspberry Sour and dials up the delicacy with additions of fresh ginger and thyme, adding an herbal bite to black and red raspberries. The blend of Wheat and Blonde Ales aged in oak wine barrels creates a crisp, clean base for the bold fruit and herb flavors and absorbs woody notes with vibrancy.
Soft floral lavender and pine aromas rise from a deep violet pour. The airy, effervescent body bursts with tart berry notes like fresh-picked raspberries straight from the bramble. Undertones of minty thyme and uplifting ginger zest lurk in the background, while the finish is dry with a kick of lemon pepper. A faint oak character looms over Midnight Bramble, tempering the trademark acidity of Cascade’s prized Sours.
If Midnight Bramble was a student, no surprise, it would pass Sour class with flying colors. Untappd user @Hstabins had to extend their gradebook to fit in its exceptional marks:“A++++. Very Fabulous.”We couldn’t agree more. But enough school, it’s time to Sourbrate another Cascade gem!
