A Note on This Beer
Jeppe — craft beer legend and founder of New York’s renowned Evil Twin Brewing — has finally gone too far.
He’s made a Sour Ale with (prepare yourself) actual Mountain Dew Syrup.
That’s right, the shimmering green goo that is the base for the popular soda. It is the very same glowing ooze that transformed 4 ordinary baby turtles into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Probably.
And now you can enjoy it in a beer with Midtown Dew! It’s green, and it tastes like ‘green.’ Like a popsicle that dyes your tongue emerald, or a sports drink with a name like ‘Arctic Apple Stomper’ or ‘Leprechaun Brawl.’
Imagine lemons and limes (but they were grown on Neptune) then add some green apples that were harvested by Sour Patch Kids, and you’ll be close. Or, if that’s too much to wrap your head around, think of actual Mountain Dew.
Only it’s WAY better than that because it’s creamy from a touch of lactose and it comes with a 6% ABV.
You know, maybe Jeppe hasn’t gone too far after all. Mountain Dew was originally developed as a mixer for booze in the 1940s (that’s true, you can look it up) so it’s only natural to use it in an alcoholic beverage.
In any case, you’ve probably never had a beer like Midtown Dew. And the only way to REALLY know what it’s like is to try it yourself. Snag a couple cans and prepare to get weird.
And who knows? Maybe it’ll give you crazy, mutant superpowers like the Ninja Turtles!
